Chicken Francese

I Made Chicken Francese Last Night and It Felt Like a Fancy Restaurant Dinner at Home

Hey friends! 🍋🍝

I was craving something light but satisfying and found this Chicken Francese recipe on Reddit. The bright lemon butter sauce is everything! I made it last night with angel hair pasta and sautéed zucchini on the side, and it felt like a fancy Italian dinner without leaving the house.

The chicken was tender and golden, the sauce was silky and tangy, and everything came together beautifully.

How It Turned Out

Pounding the chicken thin made it cook super fast and evenly. The sauce is simple but tastes luxurious with the white wine and fresh lemon. My only tweak was adding a little extra garlic because… garlic makes everything better.

Chicken Francese with Angel Hair Pasta & Sautéed Zucchini

Ingredients

  • Chicken:
  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 3 large eggs

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • Francese Sauce:
  • 1 cup chicken stock

  • ½ cup dry white wine

  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Angel Hair Pasta:
  • 12 oz angel hair pasta

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp parsley

  • Salt and pepper

  • Sautéed Zucchini:
  • 3 medium zucchini, cut into half moons

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • Salt and pepper

Directions

  • Slice chicken breasts into thin cutlets, pound to ¼-inch thick, and season.
  • Dredge in seasoned flour, then egg. Pan-fry in olive oil + butter until golden (3-4 min per side). Set aside.
  • Make sauce in the same pan: deglaze with wine, add stock and lemon juice, simmer until reduced. Whisk in butter, return chicken to pan, and simmer briefly.
  • Cook angel hair, toss with butter, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper + pasta water.
  • Sauté zucchini with olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt & pepper until lightly browned.
  • Plate: pasta on one side, zucchini next to it, chicken with plenty of sauce on top. Finish with parsley.

This meal is bright, comforting, and feels special. The lemon sauce is addictive, and the zucchini adds a nice fresh element. It’s elegant enough for guests but easy enough for a weeknight.

Definitely adding this to my regular rotation!
